Responsive Web Design
Mobile use of the internet is steadily rising. In fact, almost 70% of mobile users only use mobile devices to access the internet. At Red Truck Designs, we build your site utilizing Responsive Design. However, not all mobile devices are equal. Good web designers work to understand how your customers want to interact with you on the web. We understand that many customers need to have a different experience when they are viewing your site on a mobile device as compared to a desktop.
All we build is responsive websites. We understand that businesses need to be accessible easily online by their customers on mobile devices. Our approach is simple; we work to understand who your clients’ are, what their needs are when using your website (both as a desktop and mobile device). Then, we build your website as a desktop version first, then customize and make adjustments to create the best mobile experience possible. WordPress websites that use responsive templates with web designers that do not understand basic HTML and CSS can’t do this. Too often, they are limited to what the designer of the template had in mind when he sold the template.
Eric is truly a professional that worked to understand the needs of our company, our industry and the competitors in our market. He then set out to create us a website that showcased our work and NAILED IT!!

What Sets Us Apart? Our customers set us apart. With the support of our satisfied customers, Red Truck Designs has had only two jobs since we started that were not by referral. Our business has been built on referrals from the very first website. The first project I received that was not a referral, I had to ask where they found us at. Turns out, they were visiting one of our clients’ website and like it so much that they decided to call.
After a Google search, our second project that was not by referral ended up looking at all the websites of local web design companies and said our looked the most modern of all of them and decided to sit down with us. We met for coffee and I learned all about their new product, the marketing strategy they had and who their ideal client was. By the end of the meeting, we received the project and quickly went to work on their site. They are now a client and have asked us to have any potential client call them for a reference.
It all began with our very first project; I was on a committee for our local school looking to have the website redesigned. The price was going to be expensive, not mobile friendly, and in the end, we would have had to maintain the website. The Vice Principal of the school asked me if there were any way that I could design a website for them. Armed with the experience of building iPhone Apps, I set out to learn HTML and CSS to create my first website. The school benefited from my work and word quickly spread around town that I had redesigned the website. It was during my interviews of local web designers that I learned what I liked about the process and what I didn’t like about the process. As I built my company, I built my product line and services around that first experience.
Why the Red Truck?About 10 years ago, I came up with an idea for an iPhone App. I was running the Northern CA Division of a construction company and I went out searching for a developer to build an iPhone App. Every person and company that I met with had no desire to build a business app at the time. They were all looking at building games for the App Store. Determined to see my vision a reality, I went to YouTube University and watched everything I could on building iPhone Apps and C++ (language used for iOS development). I then went on a bunch of chat rooms and watched the conversations taking place, occasionally asking questions and fitting all the puzzle pieces together. After a year and a half, I created my first iPhone App. I know it’s a long story, but we’re getting to the part about the truck, I promise.
Remember the part about building my very first website? That’s where it started. Knowing that I worked in construction and had no company and this was in fact my first website, the Vice Principal asked me what the name of my company was. Really? I asked. “Well you never know what God has in store for you Eric. So, I ask again, what is the name of your company?” I threw out the name Red Truck Designs. With the recession of 2007, I had recently sold my 1963 Volkswagen Crewcab to an architect in Atlanta, GA. And so it was born, a new meaning to an old car that was very much a part of me.
